Texas Charm

My husband and I moved to Austin, Texas in February, and our transition from the Pacific Northwest to the hot beautiful hill country of central Texas was made possible with the help of this amazing couple.  With our intent to rent a house being immediately discarded due to high rental cost and quality of options, champion realtor Ivy Stanton found us a perfect brand new home and walked us through the buying process from the moment we set foot on the property to the final signing of the papers.

If you live in the Austin area and are thinking about selling your home, Ivy and her husband Ed offer concierge, trustworthy service and complimentary professional staging.  And please know I am not being compensated in any way to write this post, it is truly a joy to know this couple and we feel so welcomed in Texas, thanks first to them.  I am honored that they asked to have a photo session with me.  Enjoy!

What a story we have about this journey to a new land, one that has had blessings poured out upon us each unknown step of the way.  If you ever need your faith in God to grow, move out of state to a new settling place!

And if you live in the Austin area, I’m now booking for portraits and family photos!2016-07-23_0007

Farm Country Wedding

This beautiful, quaint farm wedding was celebrated on the first hot Northwest day in early June. With temperatures over 90 degrees, friends and family basked in the sunshine and gathered around James and Meg to bless their marriage. Fragrant flowers, smiling faces, and lots of love mingled to make this a memorable day. Congrats James and Meg!

Thanks to Justin Slemp for being a second shooter during the ceremony and reception! Thanks to Juston Keeble for being my faithful and handsome assistant, always ready to hand me a lens, carry my camera bag, and refresh my water bottle (and get me the last piece of broccoli on the tray).

Celebrations

I had the joy once again of watching through the lens of a little one going from belly bump to newborn to six-month-old to two-year-old! I had a wonderful time spending an evening celebrating this two-year-old’s birthday along with her mom and dad’s 9th wedding anniversary!

A Glimpse of Summer

Being that it’s the first day of summer and the sky disagrees with calendar by producing gloomy clouds and a chilly breeze, I wanted to remind myself of one of my favorite happinesses (a word, yes?) of the season: violas. With a little playing around with new photo editing techniques, I smiled. I hope you smile, too.

July 15, 2012

I had a lovely afternoon/evening planting my flower pots today!  It is one of my most favorite summer pastimes and after spending countless months (it seems) of clouds and rain, summer finally arrived in the Northwest.  However, of course, today when I wanted to spend the day outside, the sunshine found itself to be scarce, much to my dismay.  It did not stop me from enjoying the fresh air, though!
